Based on my award-winning 1999 Modes of Therapeutic Action (Jason Aronson “Book of the Year”), this "deep-dive" MASTERCLASS will integrate classical psychoanalytic, self psychological, contemporary relational, existential-humanistic, and quantum-neuroscientific approaches that aim to spark lasting, transformative psychodynamic growth in those you are treating.

We will focus on attuning to the level of each individual's anxiety and creating "optimally stressful” interventions that balance challenge with support. These “mismatch experiences” will generate iterative healing cycles of disruption and repair, guiding individuals from rigid defense to resilient adaptation – transforming “old bad,” disempowering narratives into “new good,” empowering ones.

Throughout the week, I will present both brief and extended case vignettes to illustrate how psychodynamic theory translates directly into clinical practice.
